Dr. Yan Vogel is a Veni laureate at the Department of Chemical Engineering, TU Delft. He earned his BSc and MSc in Spain in 2015 and his PhD in Australia in 2020. His postdoctoral research took him to Netherlands at TU Delft and after to Switzerland at ETH Zürich. In 2025 he joined TU Delft as a group leader.

His research group is dedicated at providing a mechanistic understanding of electrochemical processes and technologies. He specializes in spectroelectrochemical and operando characterization for advancing electrolyzers and optoelectronic devices, with a focus on CO2 electrolysis and quantum dots.

Dr. Vogel has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications, has supervised 5 MSc, 2 Honors and 5 BSc projects, and has received over €600k in grants as main PI. He is a fellow of the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Dutch Research Council, and a member of the International Society of Electrochemistry. Vogel work has been recognized with the Chancellor’s Commendation thesis award, the Distinguished Talent Award from the Australian Government and the Young Author Prize from the International Society of Electrochemistry.
